’Cats suffer loss

Keith Mader
Sports editor

The Wildcats faced tough course conditions and finished second in the Puget Sound Invitational in Tacoma, Wash. After a strong start March 4, where Linfield was behind the University of Puget Sound by three strokes, the ’Cats ended 15 strokes behind on March 5.
“As a team, we did really well the first day, but the second day, we were really tired; 36 holes were a lot for us in two days,” freshman Lydia Smith said. “It was a lot more than what we are used to.”
At the end of play March 4, sophomore Brynn Hurdus was three strokes from the lead after shooting an 86. On March 5, Hurdus shot a 90 and finished in fourth place.
“I did see continued improvement from each individual on the team,” coach Karly Cramer said.
Freshman Sophie Corr and junior Brittany Johnson both shot a 93 March 5.
“Even though we got second place, I feel like we had a good chance to win,” Smith said.
Linfield will compete in the Pacific Invitational March 14-15 in North Plains, Ore.
