For the first time in five years, the Linfield men’s and women’s golf teams will be playing on their home course. The Northwest Conference Fall Classic will be held at Michelbook Country Club this Saturday and Sunday.

Mitch Wilson, who is the men’s team coach and the pro shop and golf operations manager at Michelbook, sees benefits for both the teams and the course.

“Michelbook is very excited,” Wilson said. “The course is in perfect shape, the teams are super excited.  It will be great for our golfers to compete on their home course, especially for a tournament as big as this one.”

Senior Katy Mahr said this weekend is a big opportunity for the team and herself.

“We know what each hole looks like and how to get out of trouble. I am very excited to play here this weekend and I believe that I have a very good opportunity to shoot my career low,” Mahr said.

There are three major tournaments throughout the year in the NWC: the Fall Classic, the Spring Classic and the Championship.

Tee times start both days at 8:45 a.m.
