Lacrosse struggles against Whitman in final game of season

’Cat Lax finished up the 2015-2016 season with a matchup that turned into a battle.

Linfield stormed onto the field strong, forcing Whitman to turn over left and right as well as making the Whitman defense work hard if they intended to counter our girl’s speed.

Linfield’s offense advanced on every opportunity they received.

Mae Seifert, Genna Hughes, Angelica Martinez, and Amber Kaholoaa all contributed to the score in this game, each of them showing off proper technique and a well-developed sense of the field.

Goalie Rebecca Kimball blocked shot attempts like a professional throughout the game.

This final game marks the end of Kelsey Dammarell and Savannah Smith’s time on the field as a part of ’Cat Lax. Both women helped to nurture and develop the skills of the younger players on the team.

“We had a chance at the beginning to set the pace and we kept up. Through the course of the game though we just weren’t able to put the pieces together,” Margaret Pu said.

With the final score of 20-5 in Whitman’s favor, the game came to be a bit of a disappointment, yet our girls are looking forward to a great season next year.

“Next year I feel confident that we will put everything together and come out strong every time,” Pu said.
