Linfield Concert Choir in need of singers

Sing your heart out!

The Linfield Concert Choir is in need of singers, especially bass and baritone. Choir is a strong and family-oriented group and new students who are shy about the idea of joining a choir because of insecurities will be welcomed with open arms.

“That’s the point of being in a choir. You’re not alone. You’re not doing this by yourself and that’s one of the great things about choral singing, because you’re with other people and it’s a supportive community and it practices your confidence of singing,” said Mary Beth Jones, ’17.

Anyone who enjoys singing can join choir even if they are not a music major or minor.

The class meets at Delkin Hall in the Vivian Bull Music Building on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 12:10 to 1:20 p.m.

The choir goes on a retreat to the coast this Friday and Saturday to not only improve their skills as singers, but also to build strong friendship between choir members.

Jones encourages students to try singing and conquer their fear. “A lot of people say ‘I can’t sing’ or ‘I’m not good’, but this is the time to learn and to get good,” Jones said.
