The Linfield University Theatre Program’s A Season of Eco-Theatre continues this November with Firebringer. The musical, performed in collaboration with the Linfield music department, will explore themes of capitalism and climate change in the wake of humanity’s discovery of fire.

Originally produced by StarKid Productions, Firebringer is best known for its viral song: “We’ve Got Work To Do.” In which the character Zazzalil resists participating in tribe work.

Firebringer runs from Nov. 10, 11, 12, 17 and 18 at 7:30 p.m. and Nov. 19 at 2 p.m. in the Marshall Theatre. Tickets are available online for $10 with any student ID. Linfield faculty and staff can buy up to two tickets for $13. It is strongly recommended that audience members wear a mask during the performance.

Following the performance on Nov. 17 there will be a panel discussing the show’s theme of environmental responsibility. The panel will feature Linfield professors from the English, Psychology, and Theatre departments.
