Lowdown of McMinnville Street Food
October 11, 2020
With so much food around Mcminnville, it’s hard to choose where to go! Here is a rundown of some popular places to eat in Mac.
Serendipity – ?- Established in 2000 and located on 3rd Street, Serendipity is definitely a must when visiting McMinnville. Serendipity is a place to go for a date, with the family or with your friends. Even when walking in the ice cream shop you become transported, with the old-fashioned decor and the self-playing piano making the ambiance unique. The ice cream is just as good, serving a large selection of flavors and dairy accommodations. Additionally, they also have a large selection of other treats from banana splits, baked goods, and even a soup of the day. You can follow them on Facebook for more information and updates.
McMenamins – ???- McMenamins is the go-to place when you bring your family into town. Built into Hotel Oregon, this restaurant offers a large selection of foods from burgers to bowls. They offer both in house and roof-top seating that gives a 360 view of Oregon. However, the rooftop is often super popular. So make sure to add that to your reservation ahead of time. Additionally, plan to be there for a while as the food takes about an hour. Overall, the food is super filling and provides a bunch of different options for everyone.
Pura Vida – ??- Opened in 2013, Pura Vida is a staple for modern Latin American dishes. Chef Ricardo Antúnez made sure his menu included local ingredients and often changes with the seasons. They offer delicious Latin American inspired food and drinks from several countries including Costa Rica, Cuba, El Salvador, Perú, Argentina, and Ecuador. All of the dishes are great choices. This restaurant is affordable and provides several options that are great for the family.
Sandwich Express – ?- If you want an affordable, quick, and filling meal, Sandwich Express is the one. Located on 99W, Sandwich Express bakes its own bread daily. They offer a variety of sandwiches, salads, and platters for events. Sandwich Express provides both in house and drive-thru service starting at 6:30 am on the weekdays. I would recommend their breakfast or toasted sandwiches.
Nancy Jo’s –??- Nancy Jo’s is your classic burger place, known for their burgers and shakes it can serve as a dine-in and drive-thru. The burger is pretty basic, better than Mcdonalds, and isn’t too greasy. Their website states, “Everything we do is done fresh daily. Even our potatoes are imported from Idaho and they make the best fries. Our oil was chosen over 14 other brands. We offer four different types of cheese and 15 different toppings. We also offer a 100% grand Prime burger.” Nancy Jo’s is definitely more of a grab-and-go style place, but it does close pretty early!
Community Plate – ???– Community Plate is a modern twist on the American brunch stop. This place is a great place to bring your family and friends on the weekend. When you walk into the restaurant, you will notice that many of the tables are set up in a community-style arrangement with smaller tables in front and a long 12-person table in the back. This restaurant and cafe is a must for brunch, but it might be a little hard to get a table for a large group. Although offering a limited menu due to the coronavirus, they serve a selection of scrambles, hashes, and pancakes for breakfast as well as tuna melts, grilled cheese, and burgers for lunch.
Wildwood –???– Wildwood is a classic American brunch stop. Known for their french toast and scrambled it is a great place to go with your friends on the weekend or with your parents when they come into town. On the edge of 3rd street and 99, Wildwood Cafe has been in McMinnville for over two decades. They offer group seating, but there are definitely going to be lines on the weekends.
