Graphic designer to speak at Linfield

Grant Beltrami, Staff writer

A leading expert in graphic design will be lecturing on storytelling and design in today’s multimedia landscape at 7 p.m. on Oct. 26 in Ice Auditorium.

The Linfield art and mass communication departments will host Ellen Lupton, a senior curator at the Smithsonian’s Cooper Hewitt National Design Museum, to give a speech titled “Design is Storytelling.”

Lupton’s speech will explore how design can interact with narrative to engage the senses and create rich and inclusive experiences for audiences. Lupton has written several books on design, including “Thinking with Type,” and directs the Maryland Institute College of Art’s graphic design MFA program.
