’Cat Lax falls to George Fox, Puget Sound in final home games
April 17, 2016
’Cat Lax battled hard through the last two home games of the season.
Saturday’s game against George Fox was filled with exciting plays, shot attempts, and great defense.
Even with all of the right elements on their side, George Fox prevailed with a 21-5 win.
Although our girls were a bit disheartened by the results of the game, the fire came back into their eyes for Sunday’s game against the University of Puget Sound.
Seniors Kelsey Dammarell and Savannah Smith were acknowledged before the game for their leadership and other contributions to the legacy of ’Cat Lax.
Kelsey attempted a shot during the latter portion of the first half. She also participated in a very well performed offensive play along with Mae Seifert and Amber Kaholoa.
At the 24 minute mark of the first half, Mae Seifert scored a goal bringing the score to 2-2 as well as extending her scoring streak.
Makayla Khatewoda scored her first goal of the season with just over seven minutes left in the match.
Although there was a collective sigh when the final score turned out to be 14-5 in Puget Sound’s favor, our ’Cat Lax girls are gearing up for their final game of the season against Whitman in Walla Walla, Washington.
