At a home match, the Linfield women’s soccer team lost in a battle against Puget Sound.

This being their second time up against Puget Sound this season with a tie last game, Lady ’Cats battled hard but weren’t able to come out on top.

During the first half of the game. Puget Sound was able to maintain most of the ball possession, putting several shots on goal, all but one saved by goal keeper Sarah Bailey.

Even though the ’Cats were not able to come out with a win, they still had solid shot attempts.

Rachael Gernhart, ’16, took a shot that was assisted by Marisa Specht, ’16; however, the shot was not quite on target. Another shot was taken by Emma Vukic, ’16, which was assisted by Ashlee McFall, ’19. Unfortunately, this goal too was slightly off target.

It was toward the beginning of the second half that the Loggers were able to make a goal.

Into the second half, Emilie Kongsore, ’16, made an on target shot that was saved by Puget Sound’s goal keeper.

The final game score was 0-1, ’Cats just short of a goal.

Next up for women’s soccer is an away game against Whitworth hosted in Spokane, Washington starting at noon.
