‘Cat Lax was outscored by powerhouse St. Mary’s College Wednesday night.

Linfield lacrosse scored two goals, both by senior Genna Hughes.

The undefeated team St. Mary’s was unstoppable, scoring 20 goals.

“I do believe that we worked as a team and that the score did not reflect how we played, but on the other hand, we did make mistakes that would have made the score a lot closer if those were not made,” freshman Maddie Cole said. “We will keep our heads up and learn from what we did wrong to get ready for our next game.”

‘Cat Lax will take a 10 day break before facing its next opponent. They will be on the road to Virginia to challenge Sweet Briar College Saturday, March 24, Hollins University Tuesday, March 27, and Ferrum College Wednesday, March 28.

“Something that we need to improve on as a team is getting open for each other and getting back to the basics of lacrosse. Passing and catching killed us last game and caused most of our turnovers,” Cole said.

Linfield is ranked second in conference with a 2-3 overall record behind George Fox.
