Volleyball Defeats Lewis & Clark in Tight Battle

The gym was filled with fans as the Wildcats took on Lewis and Clark, Friday October 28th. The cats came out with the victory in 5 sets.

Taylor Peterson, ’20, Darian Stedman, ‘19, and Audrey Hyem, ’19, all had at least 10 kills to push the Wildcats over the pioneers. The team combined to have 12 total blocks. Kayla Magbaleta, ‘19, contributed 35 digs to pull team over the Pioneers in 5 close sets.

The ‘Cats started set one down by five but fought to within 3 points, eventually losing set 1 with a score of 19-25.

To start set two the teams went back and forth to tie at 5-5, but then the Wildcats fell to a 7-point deficit, but with a handful of kills and a few Pioneer errors the Wildcats were able to come back and win set 2, 25-22.

The team came out strong in set three to get off to a quick 3-0 start, but could not out score the Pioneers losing 25-27.

With the Wildcats down 2-1 in the set count they had to win the next 2 for the win. The ‘Cats seemed in control the entire set winning set four 25-20. Forcing a fifth set, winner takes all.

The ‘Cats were determined and to take this one home fighting to a 15-15 tie. First team to be up by two would take it and that is just what Linfield did winning the next two points, taking the final set 17-15.
