Even in death Joan Rutschman has brought people together through the power of love and positivity.

Joan Rutschman, beloved wife and mentor, assisted her husband Ad Rutschman in finding and looking after a multitude of athletes and coaches throughout her time here at Linfield.

The impact of her presence was felt even more as a result of her recent passing.

The memorial held for Mrs. Rutschman was a beautiful embodiment of her spirit. Countless friends and admirers sent their condolences and testimonials to the ceremony.

Head football coach of the Nebraska Cornhuskers, Mike Riley said, “ Joan was the ultimate protector.”

A long time friend of Ad and Joan said, “ Everyone that met Momma Cat loved her.”

Repeatedly testimonials spoke to Joan’s warm heart and caring nature.

At about the halfway point a video collage showed her and her family’s growth throughout the years followed by the reading of condolences sent to the Rutschman family in the form of letters.

After a heartfelt prayer was said in her honor, associates as well as the Rutschman family, moved to the reception area in the Rutschman fieldhouse to share the many happy memories Joan Rutschman inspired.
